Pokemon GO: Zapdos Raid Hour Begins Tonight

Zapdos Raid Hour takes place tonight from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT in Pokémon GO. A Legendary Bird from Kanto, an Electric/Flying type, will appear in Tier Five raids from the majority of Gyms. This is the third time Niantic has gone through the Legendary Birds, and we’re left to wonder: who’s (Artic)One, Zap(Dos), and Tres? I’m moltres, my child. In the near future, the legendary chicken of the Fire/Flying type will replace Zapdos in raids. The Legendary Zapdos still lords over Tier Five raids in Pokémon GO, so here are some tips on how to take advantage of it.

  • You don’t want to go into a raid scrambling to figure out the best counters. Preparation is key! Using our Raid Guide, you can prepare your teams for Zapdos well in advance and even give the team a nickname.. Enter the raid with your team named “Zappy Boys” or whatever you want, and swipe to the side to make it appear. As a result, you’ll have an easier time navigating the various raid lobby settings.
  • With enough trainers in the lobby, you can try to get through raids without investing any of your Pokémon’s Stardust in the process. What is more important is that you use Stardust for the purpose of improving both your Pokémon and yourself. Assemble a formidable raid team by strengthening your Pokémon and yourself as a Trainer.
